"Piping on a Manifest Train Led by Norfolk Southern Locomotive 9823 and Union Pacific Locomotive 8856" (C) 2023, the Railfanning Dog |
I find freight trains, as I called them as a young boy and still do as an older man today, sometimes called manifests, have always fascinated me. It has something to do with each car being different from the one before, like a boxcar followed by a tanker or a coal car.
This particular train is one of my favorites. It consisted of many railcars with the piping shown in these two photos and boxcars.

Another car I found interesting was a pale blue boxcar with the logo of the Canadian American Railroad on it.

The Canadian American Railroad was established as a railroad in 1994 and operated between 1995 and 2002. It ran between Brownville Junction, Maine and Lennoxville, Quebec, later expanding west to Farnham, Quebec, and further to St.-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec. The railroad had track rights on the Canadian Pacific Railway to Montreal, Quebec. The railroad was owned by Iron Road Railways.
